Tutorial: Smokey Silver with a Purple Pop Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

Hey guys, sorry its been so long since I've posted a tutorial but as some of you may know I have been sick the past week or so and haven't been up to doing much of anything except sleeping and attempting to eat, hopefully you understand.

So, while looking through my tutorials recently I saw that I haven't done a silver/grey look in a while. I began playing around with colours and this is the look I came up with.

Nail of the Day: China Glaze "On The Prowl" and Tanzanite Fire Foil

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

Here is another one of the trials of the foils I bought from Dollar Nail Art. This one is a bright purple holographic foil called Tanzanite Fire.

This is how the foil turned on my nails:

I'd describe Tanzanite Fire as a deep red based purple with a pattern on it resembling water in a pond. The ripple like effect on this foil reflects blue, purple, punk and red depending on where the light hits it creating a really pretty holographic reflect

As a base for this foil, I used China Glaze "On The Prowl" which looks like this:

Nail Art Foil Collection: Purples

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

Now on to my favorite list of nail foils, the purples! As most of you will know by now purple is one of my favorite colours so I was really excited to see what these foils would be like. I purchased these foils from Dollar Nail Art using my own money. In this post you will find product photos, close ups of the individual foils and also a brief description.

If you do not know what nail foils are or how to use them please follow this link to see my Introduction to Nail Foils post.

Palette VS Palette: MAC, Coastal Scents, Unii Palette and Zpalette

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

So as every makeup collector and makeup artist knows, you need good palettes for your collection/kit. Something that will hold all your products and protect them but also minimize the room it take up in storage.

The following is a list of palettes that I have tried in the past and my personal thoughts about them. I am not being paid to write this review and all the palettes I bought myself with my own money. I will be comparing all of these palettes to the MAC palette as I feel that these are the most accessible for most people.

Tutorial: Shadow on the Sun Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

So I realized while going through my tutorials that I hadn't done a nice purple look for a while, which is CRAZY because purple is one of my favorite colours to wear. This look also incorporates a gold duochrome on the inner tear duct which gives the purple a nice contrast.

Tutorial: Sunset at the Beach Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

This look is a really good example of the way that complimentary colours can look good together. I used a copper and gold look on the eyelid and then a purple-blue on the lower lash line. This works well because orange (copper) and blue are complimentary, and yellow (gold) and purple are complimentary also.

This is a pretty awesome look to try when you want to do something a little more dramatic and fun on a weekend out. You could also maybe pass this off as an Egyptian look if you made the eyeliner a little more dramatic.

Nail Tutorial: Purple French with White Roses

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

This is a simple Konad design that I thought I would film recently. I have since taken off my gel nails and I'm allowing my nails to grow naturally so I won't be posting any more nail tutorials after this except the ones that I have pre-recorded.

To recreate this look, you will need:
- base coat - I used Nfu Oh Base Coat
- China Glaze "Temptation Carnation" nail polish
- China Glaze "Midnight Ride" nail polish
- Konad Special Polish in "White"
- Konad Top Coat
- Konad image plate "M19"
- Fauxnad GCOCL "F01"

Tutorial: Copper and Purple Smokey Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

This is a look that I created that was inspired by the nail tutorial in my previous post. It is just a really pretty purple and copper look which is really smokey and dramatic.

This look obviously wouldn't be an everyday wear look, and I wouldn't pass it off as that (although I would wear this any time).

Tutorial: Silver, Purple and Pink Smokey Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

This is a really simple look that looks really pretty. I don't use silvers too often so this is just something a little fun to wear. Its not terribly dramatic but the combination of colours looks really pretty.

Tutorial: Electric Party Purples Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

I did this look a few weeks ago and wore it out one night when I went shopping with my mum. I was really surprised when 3 different total strangers stopped me and told me how much they absolutely LOVED my makeup.

This is a really pretty look for green or brown eyes. The glitter is a really pretty addition to the look, although not completely necessary.

If you don't have access to an Inglot store (as far as I know, in America there is only one in Times Square in New York), you can replace Inglot #439 (iridescent purple) eye shadow with Violet pigment but you might have to apply it wet to get a more dramatic effect. A similar effect to the one created  with Inglot #674 (light purple duochrome) in the tear duct can be achieved with Crystal eye shadow.

Also, if you can't get a hold of Non-Conformist fluidline, you could replace it with Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Lust or Ransom. You could also use just a plain black liner if you prefer.

Tutorial: Bright Pink and Purple Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

This is a recreation of a FOTD that I did a few weeks ago (the post can be found here). It is created using all MAC products, Pro and LE. This was originally created as a copy of a look that I saw SayAnythingBr00ke wearing in her life update video, although when I asked her about it I only got one eye shadow correct.

FOTD: February 21st, 2010

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

So this is the look that I did today. I was supposed to be going out shopping somewhere with my mother but she decided last minute that she was too tired to go, mind you it has been a stinking hot day so I dont really blame her.

This look was inspired by the look that SayAnything Br00ke was wearing in her latest video (to see it, click here). It is a really pretty pink yet peachy-apricot colour on the lid and a purple in the crease, and I really loved it.

This is the look I came up with

Royal Gold and Purple Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

This is a really simple and pretty look that anyone would be able to pull off. The colours are inspired by the colours of royalty, being purple and gold (purple because it was a harder colour to find in older times so it was more expensive so only people of royalty were able to afford it, and gold because its the colour of money).

This would be a really pretty look to wear for a date on Valentine's Day or something like that because golds tend to bring out a lot of eye colours really well. The contrasting purple also works really nicely with people who have brown or green eyes

Tutorial: Hello Kitty Revisited

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

Like most MAC addicts and the makeup obsessed, the Hello Kitty Collection that came out at MAC in 2009 was one of my favorite collections of all time. I did do a look using one of the palettes on my old channel but when I deleted it I decided to do a better look using more than one palette.

I have included a list of products that I feel would easily be able to to dupe colours from the collection if you weren't able to get your hands on it when it came out.

Tutorial: Bright Pink and Purple with Green Look

EDIT: I am no longer making posts in this domain. Please follow me over to www.walkinmyeyeshadow.com to keep following my makeup journey

I thought I'd take a break from writing out tutorials I'm going to film to upload my latest tutorial and update the blog.

This look was requested my my friend, Christie. She asked me if I could create a look for her that was pink and purple which was really bright and out of the ordinary. I came up with the basic look for the lid but then decided to change it up for the lower lash line because, as I said, she wanted something out of the ordinary. I chose to use greens on the lower lash line because I know that green is Christie's favorite colour.

I also decided to use false lashes in the look because I hardly ever use them. I have recently gotten really into lashes. I always liked using them on other people because I love the way they can change a look and open up the eyes. I also only just found a way to put false lashes on myself because normally I struggle with them.

My collection of false lashes has gotten pretty huge since I've been using them on myself. I mostly used Ardell lashes because I like that they are human hair, there are so many different styles and some of them have an invisible band which makes it easier for them to blend into the natural lash line. I might do a blog post soon showing how different styles of lashes look on me, but it'll depend on if I'm having a good day with them or not.

Kat’s Latest Manicure: Purple Glitter French with Rhinestones and Spangles (September 18th, 2009)

So after seeing my nails that I have previously posted about, my sister Kathryn decided that she wanted to have her own nails done. He wanted hers to be a bit more blinged up than I had mine so I added lavender rhinestones that I recently purchased to the smile line.

I embeded the spangles using a UV top coat and then placed another layer over then to be able to sit the rhinestones on top. When the top coat cured, the rhinestones were stuck in place nicely.

The acrylic that I used to create these nails was called “Iris” from the Nfu Oh Micro Slice Glitter Collection II. I purchased the purple open-heart spangles at the Expo in Sydney and bought the rhinestones from a seller on eBay.
