Tutorial: One Off in the Club Look Recreated

This is a recreation of a look I did when I first started filming makeup tutorials from Youtube, way before I had the HD camera. I really liked this look when I first did it and the quality of the first video wasn't the best, so I decided to refilm it with the new camera.

This is a recreation of a FOTD that I did a few weeks ago (the post can be found here). It is created using all MAC products, Pro and LE. This was originally created as a copy of a look that I saw SayAnythingBr00ke wearing in her life update video, although when I asked her about it I only got one eye shadow correct.

This is a recreation of a look that SayAnythingBr00ke on Youtube created a few months ago. When she did this look, she used minerals from Glamour Doll Eyes but I don't have any of those and I wanted to recreate the look using things I already had. This look is composed of mostly Inglot and MAC and I feel that it came out fairly close to her original look.

This is a really pretty look I came up with recently. As I say in the video it would work really well for green and blue eyed girls as the burgundy will compliment green eyes and the oranges will compliment blue. That's not to say that this look will only work for those eye colours, it would look nice and anyone.

There is three limited edition colours used in this look, that is 100 Strokes, Big T and Off the Page. If you have Twinks eye shadow that can replace 100 Strokes and I think that the Pro eye shadow called Orange would be a good replacement for Off the Page. For a replacement for Big T you could use any number of teal shadows but I recommend using Teal pigment as it the closest to the colour.

This is one of my favorite looks that I have done in a long time. I don't really like using blue eye shadows too much as I don't feel that they really suit me so I thought that combining them with greens would be a good way to wear them. I don't care about the old rhyme "blue and green should never be seen", I am not the kind of person who follows the makeup "rules", I see them more as "guidelines" and not something that has to be followed.

I used a coloured eyeliner for this look, which is something different for me considering I usually use the good old black. You could totally use black eyeliner with this instead of the blue, I just wanted to try something different for a change.

While we are on the subject of eyeliner, in this look I use a duochrome eyeliner from Bourjoise. The eyeliner I am using is a black but it has a deep blue shimmer to it. If you don't have an eyeliner like this or can't get your hands on Bourjoise, MAC brought out an eyeliner similar called Black Russian. This has appeared in two collections: the Suite Array Collection in October 2008 and the more recent Love That Look Collection in July 2009, so if you were lucky enough to get your hands on that, thats fantastic, other than that, any blue liner will do fine.

Tutorial: Photo Realism Quad Look

This is a recreation of the FOTD that I did on October 14th, 2009 (to view the original look, click here). I did a tutorial on this look as an example of a look that can be achieved with this quad. I was thinking of doing a series on it but seeing as how the collection has come and gone, I really don't see the point now. This look it a teal on the lid and graduates into the light highlight colour. This is an easy way to create a smokey eye look when you don't really have a lot of time. It is simply just placing the colours in chunks instead of trying to blend two or three different colours onto the lid. As I said, more simple than some of the other looks that I have done.

Tutorial: One-Off in the Club Look

This is a look that I had been wanting to do a tutorial on for a while. It is a recreation of a FOTD look that I did on October 15th, 2009 (to view the original look, click here). I recently bought "One-Off" eye shadow from the Love That Look Collection (July 2009) and I thought it was such a pretty colour. The Love That Look Collection brought back the Starflash finish eye shadows and some of the limited edition shades from the Starflash Collection (July 2008) and after trying this formula, I am definately not against getting more. One Off reminds of 6th Sin, a cream eye shadow that MAC came out with in the Metal X Collection (November 2007).

The Metal X eye shadow weren't really something to scream about in my opinion when they came out. They had some gorgeous colours in the collection but because they were cream, they had a tendency to crease really badly, even with a base under them (well, they did for me anyway).

I decide to pair this with Club eye shadow, a gorgeous brown with a green duochrome which tied in with the green on the lid realy nicely. I don't often wear this colour, but each time I break it out it just makes me happy. Its not a very unique colour, I think most makeup companies will have a colour that looks like this so ifyou don't have it, you could probably find a good substitute.


To recreate this look, you will need (all MAC unless stated):
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- One Off eye shadow (from the Love That Look Collection)
- Club eye shadow
- Carbon eye shadow
- Fresh Approach eye shadow (from the "Photo Realism" quad in the Makeup Art Collection - Aug 2009)
- Vanilla eye shadow
- Loreal liquid liner in "Carbon Black"
- Ebony eyeliner
