To honest, I am completely, uncontrollably, instantly-crap-my-pants-when-I-see-one TERRIFIED of spiders. I have been afraid of them ever since I woke up one night with a Huntsman spider crawling across my chest.
I looked up this species of spider (which is a Garden Orb Weaver) and they build webs over 2 metres wide! This thing was weaving a massive web outside my front door for crying out loud!
Just so you know the size of it, the body is 2 - 3cm wide for a female (and that's what the one outside my house was because it was f*cking MASSIVE), plus extra for the legs.
I am hoping that this was the only one who had decided to take up residence next to my front door because I really don't wanna walk into any webs late and night.
This kind of reminded me of a song by Scared Weird Little Guys about the Australian wildlife (the video can be seen below). Hopefully you guys find it as funny as I do.
